Hello Parents,
This morning we had a practice lock down. The grade 1s in Ms. Hansen and Ms. Vass' class did an absolutely amazing job being safe, silent and serious. The students were told that it was a practice drill and the police officer commended both classes on an excellent job. You may want to chat with your child about the importance of these drills. Have a great weekend everyone! Hello Parents and Guardians!
Looks like the warm weather is here to stay! Happy days! Please continue to check the weather daily and dress your child accordingly. The mornings can still be a bit chilly, so layers are encouraged. Thanks to all of the families that were able to come out and join us for our math fair on Thursday evening. It was a fun night that even turned a bit competitive! Have a great week and enjoy the beautiful weather! We are so happy to see everyone back after spring break! We hope that you had a great 2 weeks off!

Today the Grade 1s got to try out snow shoeing. They spent 40 minutes outside, experiencing the snow shoes. The students also started to make connections to their senses while they were outside. They had huge smiles and were full of laughter! What a wonderful morning! Field Trip

Volunteers must have their police clearance. Please check with the office if you think you have already completed the paperwork. Hello Parents & Guardians!
We hope everyone had a lovely long weekend and it's wonderful to see almost everyone back this week! Weather While we wait for spring, please check the weather daily to ensure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather. There have been many inside days (blue days) and we are hoping that it will warm up soon! When it does warm up, there will be a lot of slush. Children are encouraged to continue to wear their snow boots to keep their feet dry. Field Trip Please let Ms Vass, Ms Hansen or Mr. Schumm know if you have volunteer clearance and are able to volunteer for a full day field trip to Telus Spark on March 13. Upcoming Dates Please know that on March 22 & 23 we will be having parent - teacher conferences. We look forward to meeting with all of the families in rooms 2 & 4. We hope that you are all having a lovely weekend! This week there will only be 3 days of school! Please remember that students do not have school on Feb 15 & 16 as it's teacher's convention. Also, there will be no school on Monday Feb. 19 as it is Family Day. Valentine's Day We will not be having any sort of party for Valentine's day, rather we will be focusing on friendship. If students bring cards for their classmates we will make time for a card exchange. To help card exchanges run smoothly, we ask that your child only writes their name on the card and that way they can hand one to each classmate without having to read and find each person. Please also know that your child does not need to bring cards on Wednesday. Thanks for your cooperation! As always, if you have any questions for us please don't hesitate to email me or chat with us after school. Good morning wonderful families of room 2 & 4!
